Jean Ellen Ebert, age 75, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 11, 2008 at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Jean Ellen Ebert was born January 15, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Lloyd Earl and Mae Etta (Burns) Proctor. She was raised in Des Moines and attended school at Lincoln Elementary and Lincoln High School. Jean lived in Des Moines until 1966 when she moved to Omaha where she worked for Brandeis for many years and also the Hadassah Bargain Box before taken care of the elderly which she did lovingly. She was united in marriage to Robert Ebert on November 21, 1972 in Elk Point, South Dakota. Jean loved her family very much and was a good Christian woman. She also enjoyed dancing.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Robert Ebert on July 1, 1992; and sister: Shirley Proctor. Survivors include her daughters: Carol Miller of Red Oak, Iowa and Kim Coppock of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren: Daniel Miller of Clarinda, Iowa; Melissa Jean Miller Davidson and husband Kevin of Elliott, Iowa; Matthew Miller and wife Nicole of Belleville, Illinois; Starr Beck of Omaha, Nebraska; and Cody Beck of Lincoln, Nebraska; great grandchildren: Lily Jean Peterson of Red Oak, Iowa; Ethan Miller of Nevada, Missouri; Chance Miller of Nevada, Missouri; Nathaniel Bowers of Essex, Iowa; Tucker Mason Miller of Elliott, Iowa; Tessa Paige Miller of Belleville, Illinois; Malikai Miller of Belleville, Illinois; and Manuel Beck-Aejanaro of Omaha, Nebraska: siblings: Lillian Loveless of Des Moines, Iowa; Lloyd Proctor and wife Sandy of Des Moines, Iowa; Leroy Proctor and wife Hazel of Altoona, Iowa; Gary Proctor of Marshalltown, Iowa; Beverly Baldwin and husband Dale of Vinton, Iowa; and David Proctor and wife Marilyn of Des Moines, Iowa; ex-grandson-in-law: John Peterson of Red Oak, Iowa; many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held 1 PM Friday, July 25, 2008 at the Faith Community Church with Pastor Brett White officiating. Jean selflessly donated her body to the University of Nebraska Medical Center for scientific research. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
