Dorothy M. Bowman, age 89, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away, Sunday, October 7, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Care Center after an extended illness. Dorothy Marie Bowman was born December 17, 1917 in Hatfield, Missouri the daughter of Roy and Elsie (Pottorff) Tull. She was raised in Missouri. In her early married life she lived on a farm in Missouri and later lived in Sunflower Kansas where she worked in a power plant. Dorothy moved to Red Oak in the late 1940ís and worked at the Powell School as a cook and later for several area restaurants as a waitress. Dorothy then began a long career working for Union Carbide retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge and REAC for many years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; four husbands: Ora Johnston, Joseph Rinehart, Delbert Edwards, and Charles Bowman; daughter: Deloris Morse; and three grandchildren: Doug Morse, Michael Cave, and Wava Newlon. Survivors include her daughter: Roberta Adams of Red Oak, Iowa; sons: Dewain Johnston and wife Rose Ann of Elephant Butte, New Mexico and Billy Joe Rinehart of Red Oak, Iowa; sisters: Geraldine Weese and husband Delbert of Albany, Missouri and Louise Jones and husband Wally of Red Oak, Iowa; brother-in-law: Claude Morse of Wallace, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law: Becky Tull of Phoenix, Arizona and Ruby Tull of Billings, Montana; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2PM Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
