Ruby Lee Bill, age 89, of Atlantic, Iowa formerly of Wyeth, Missouri passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at the Cass County Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa. Ruby Lee Bill was born December 27, 1916 in Cameron, Missouri the daughter of Walter and Stella (Burch) Swain. Ruby attended grade school in Savannah, Missouri and graduated from High School at Rosendale High School in Rosendale, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Arthur Lyman Bill on February 22, 1934. They lived all of their married life in the Wyeth neighborhood. Lyman preceded her in death in December of 1998. She then moved to St. Joseph, Missouri to be close to her grandson, Brad Taliaferro and his family. Ruby moved to Atlantic, Iowa where she lived at the Allen House for the past five years. She lived just a few blocks from her granddaughter, Pam Elwood and family and also lived only miles from her daughter Nathalee and Bill Gilleland. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed visiting Ruby and she enjoyed the holidays at Pam and Nathalee’s. Ruby loved a good party and playing bingo. Ruby was a member of the Rosendale, Missouri Christian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the CWS. Ruby was also a member of the Garden Club. She and Lyman enjoyed to dance and play cards and had neighborhood clubs they belonged to.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband: Lyman Bill and her daughter: Sandra Lee (Bill) Linck in June of 2001. Survivors include her daughters: Nancy White of Florissant, Missouri; and Nathalee Gilleland and husband Bill of Elliott, Iowa; grandchildren: Kelly White of Florissant, Missouri; Pamela Elwood and husband Randall of Atlantic, Iowa; Rhonda Shanahan and husband Jim of Wichita, Kansas; Julie Verbeelen and husband Peter of Brussels, Belgium; Sara Taliaferro and Mark Jakubauskas of Lawrence, Kansas; and Bradford Taliaferro and wife Birdena of St. Joseph, Missouri; 12 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials services will be held 1:30 PM Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the Rosendale Christian Church in Rosendale, Missouri with Reverend Bradford Taliaferro officitating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Savannah Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Allen House in Atlantic, Iowa or the Rosendale, Missouri Christian Church.
