Dorothy M. Watt, age 85, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa after a sudden illness. Dorothy Mae Watt was born April 29, 1921 in South Dakota the daughter of Benjamin and Grace Parker. Dorothyís parents died when she was very young. She was raised in the Oakland and Carson, Iowa area graduating from Carson High School. She then attended Simpson College receiving her teaching degree. This is where she met James Watt. They were united in marriage on January 23, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa. They lived in California while Jim was in the Coast Guard. When Jimís tour of duty was over, they returned to Red Oak where they have lived their entire lives. Dorothy was a Tupperware Dealer and Manager for 22 years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: George and Joseph Parker. Survivors include her husband: James Watt of Red Oak, Iowa; son: Ronald Watt and wife Anna of Clinton, Iowa; 2 granddaughters: Barbara Gluesing and husband Brent of DeWitt, Iowa; and Shari Ruehling and husband Charles of Cameron, North Carolina; 2 great granddaughters: Chelsea and Ashlyn Gluesing; brother: Lloyd Parker of Minnesota; sister: Kathryn Matson and husband Harvey of Bricelyn, Minnesota; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery in rural Montgomery County. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
