Glen Barr, age 93, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Friday, April 14, 2006 at the Griswold Care Center in Griswold, Iowa. Glen Barr was born December 31, 1912 in Pilot Grove Township of Montgomery County, Iowa the son of John Davis and Millie (Kenworthy) Barr. He was raised and lived all of his life in the Pilot Grove area. He farmed with his brother on the family farm before serving in the Army during WWII. He was united in marriage to Loretta Vetter on June 18, 1943 in Lincoln, Nebraska. After the war, Glen returned to Pilot Grove where he bought a farm and farmed until he and Loretta moved into Red Oak in 2000. He was a member of the Pilot Grove United Methodist Church.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Loretta on May 4, 2004; brothers: Earl, Lloyd, and Russell; and sisters: Grace Rush and Leila Penwell. He is survived by his daughters: Nancy Mundorf and husband Gary of Griswold, Iowa; and Joann Moss and husband Tom of Elliott, Iowa; grandchildren: Jeffrey Mundorf and wife Charity of Red Oak, Iowa; John Mundorf and wife Sara of Skidmore, Missouri; James Mundorf of Omaha, Nebraska; Josh Chambers of Griswold, Iowa; Jennifer Dawson of Bellevue, Nebraska; and Jessica Roll and husband Jason of Monticello, Iowa; great grandchildren: Walker, Morgan, Josephine, Rylee, Hadley, and Emma Mundorf; sister: Ina Andrews of Red Oak, Iowa; sisters-in-law: Maxine Orstad of Griswold, Iowa; and Dorothy Gridley of Villisca, Iowa; brother-in-law: Merlin Vetter of Red Oak, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ray Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Pilot Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 Pm Monday, April 17, 2006 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Heartland Home Health and Hospice.
