Deloris Williams, age 76, of Mission, Texas formerly of Red Oak, Iowa passed away in her sleep July 5, 2001 in Tomball, Texas. Her two daughters were by her side when she died.

Deloris “Dee” Williams was born November 2, 1924 in Wabasso, Minnesota the daughter of William and Eathel Campbell. She grew up in Clarinda, Iowa and married Ralph Williams on December 7, 1949 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They moved to Red Oak where she and Ralph owned and operated Williams Recreation, Chances R, and Johnny’s Café. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph on May 16, 1985 and a son Stephan.

Dee was a talented woman. She loved to sew, crochet, knit, and quilt. She caned chairs, collected antiques, and painted pictures. She was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, and playing cards. She also enjoyed gambling in the casino in Council Bluffs. For the past several years Dee has resided in Mission, Texas where she taught painting classes. Her family and friends have many of her paintings hanging in their homes.

Deloris is survived by her two daughters: Sue Wilkins and her husband Norm of Spring, Texas; and Stephanie Johnson and her husband Dick of Sequim, Washington; four grandchildren: Nathan Wilkins and his wife Heather of Spring, Texas; Nicholas Wilkins of Spring, Texas; Lisa Johnson of Washington, D.C.; and Michael Johnson and his wife Christina of Vancouver, Washington; three great grandchildren: Morgan and Hunter Wilkins; and Danielle Johnson; beloved sister-in-law: Letha Williams of Omaha, Nebraska; and a brother and sisters in Clarinda, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

Private family graveside memorial services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of your choice.
