Darwin E. Schurr, age 67, of Nokesville, Virginia formerly of Hastings, Iowa passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at his home in Nokesville. Darwin Edgar Schurr was born April 7, 1937 in Hastings, Iowa the son of George and Ruby (Kelley) Schurr. Darwin moved to Bedford, Iowa when he was a teenager and graduated from Bedford High School. He joined the United States Navy in 1953. Darwin was united in marriage to Glenda Taylor on March 20, 1960 in Hastings, Iowa. They lived most of their married life in Virginia. Darwin retired from the Navy after 22 years of service and started a real estate business. Darwin sold his business in 2004. He was a member and Past President of Prince William Board of Realtors and MRIS.

Survivors include his wife: Glenda Schurr of Nokesville, Virginia; son: Marvin Schurr and wife Bonnie of Whiteland, Indiana; 4 grandchildren: Justin, Jason, Jessica, and Jennifer all of Whiteland, Indiana; brother: Ronald Schurr of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Nephew: Darwin Schurr of Red Oak, Iowa; niece: Marlene Youngberg of Red Oak, Iowa; Mother-in-law: Nadine Edie of Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 3 PM Saturday, March 5, 2005 at the Hastings, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2:30 PM Saturday , March 5, 2005 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa and then family and friends will go in procession to the cemetery.
