Pearl Kirby, age 96, of Apache Junction, Arizona formerly of the Elliott and Griswold areas passed away November 17, 2003 at the Apache Junction Health Center. Pearl Cash Kirby was born November 25, 1906 near Tabor, Iowa the daughter of Samuel and Lettie (Cash) Estes. She graduated from the Tabor High School and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln earning a teaching degree. Pearl was united in marriage to Joe Kirby on May 14, 1943 in Tabor, Iowa. She taught school for many years around the Wales, Elliott, and Griswold areas. After Joe and Pearl retired they moved to Apache Junction, Arizona in 1973. Joe preceded her in death on November 5, 1996.

Survivors include many nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, November 22, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Michael Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Elliott, Iowa. Eastern Star services will be held at 7 PM Friday, November 21, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with visitation with the family to follow.
