Bessie Juhl, age 90, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Thursday, August 14, 2003 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Bessie May Juhl was born May 4, 1913 in Brownville, Kentucky the daughter of Grover and Rebecca (Decker) Sowers. She lived in Kentucky and Indiana as a child moving to Iowa as a teenager. Bessie was united in marriage to Eligah G. Kinser on April 1, 1933 in Atlantic, Iowa. They lived all of their married life in the Griwsold area. Eligah passed away August 31, 1959. She was united in marriage to Lynn Juhl on November 18, 1968 in Harlan, Iowa. They lived in Irwin, Iowa. Lynn passed away May 15, 1985. Bessie moved to Red Oak, Iowa in 1987 to be near her children. She was a resident of the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center for the past 4 years.

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son: Glen Kinser; grandson: Fred; one great grandson; three sisters; and three brothers.

Survivors include her children: Charlotte Pierson and her husband Richard of Red Oak, Iowa; Onie Clark and her husband L.D. of Torrance, California; Goldie Adams of Red Oak, Iowa; Gail Kinser and his wife Sandra of Villisca, Iowa; and C.B. Ohnmacht and her husband Mike of Essex, Iowa; 23 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Gladys Miller of Danville, Illinois; Sue Lang and her husband Jack of Kingman, Indiana; and Dorothy Smedley and her husband Orville of Bloomingdale, Indiana; sister-in-law: Martha Sowers of Newport, Indiana; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, August 16, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Alan Dean officiating. Burial will be in the Flint Cemetery near Griswold, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, August 15, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Family of Bessie Juhl.
