Ronald Lee Bierbaum, age 72, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Ronald Lee Bierbaum was born August 5, 1949, in Red Oak, Iowa, the son of Norman and Vera (Knisley) Bierbaum. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 1968 and attended Wayne State college on a football scholarship before serving in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He was very proud of the fact that he got to train with the Seabees at Port Huememe, California, where his interest of heavy equipment continued to evolve during his military career. Upon return from the military, Ronald Lee farmed at the Triple B Farm alongside his dad and brother before going to work for Mather Tiling. During this time, he met Linda Maas, his lifelong companion. Ronald went to work briefly in the oil fields before he started working for Henningsen Construction where he worked for many years and retired as an asphalt plant manager. Ronald Lee was also a history buff and kept up with family and friends through social media and Messenger. He was a longtime Eagles Lodge member and an NRA member. In addition to his love of Christmas, he enjoyed collecting M & M memorabilia and was known to always have a kind heart, generous spirit and witty sense of humor.

Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Connie Michael. Survivors include his wife: Linda Maas of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter: Stephanie Bierbaum-Howard and husband Rob of Woodstock, GA; son: Dustin Bierbaum of Hospers, IA; sister: Julie Bierbaum-Crowell of Shenandoah, IA; brother: Larry Bierbaum and wife Sandy of Essex, IA; sister-in-law: Cynthia Palmer of Sun City, AZ; nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly; and other relatives and many friends. And letís not forget Bandit the cat.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place at a later date in the Essex, Iowa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Folds of Honor.
