Donna was born October 14, 1943, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Carroll Riggs and Kathleen Ione (Williams) Slump. As a child, she lived in Omaha, Nebraska, Topeka, Kansas, Red Oak, Iowa, and Stanton, Iowa where she graduated from high school in 1961.

Donna was united in marriage to her childhood sweetheart, Larry Abraham, on March 24, 1962, at the Stanton Covenant church in Stanton, Iowa. They moved to a fourth generation homestead where they began an active farming career. Their son, Roger, was welcomed in 1964 and he became the fifth generation of farmers. Their daughter, Susan, was born in 1966. Donna relished the time spent with her family.

Donna was active in various careers including ALCO, Day Care, KYFR Radio, K-Mart, TRACO, Rosenblatt Stadium, and retried as Activity Director at Stanton Care Center. When they retired from the farm, Donna and Larry moved into Red Oak and eventually moved to their current home in Villisca, Iowa.

Donna was very active in the Covenant Church both in Essex, Iowa, and Red Oak, Iowa. She served in many capacities throughout the years. Donna loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and enjoyed sharing that love with others. God blessed her with a beautiful singing voice and she sang in the Montgomery County Farm Bureau Chorus and was in a women’s group formed by her mother, Kathleen Slump, called the Harmonettes. Her hobbies included flowers, needlework, cooking, reading, and sports. Donna was a good competitive athlete.
