Grace Evelyn Lewellen, age 82, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Trinity Center at Luther Park. Grace was born August 28, 1938 on a farm near Emerson, Iowa, the daughter of Gordon and Carolyn (White) Hascall. She graduated from Emerson High School and attended college at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. She was united in marriage to John Lewellen on June 8, 1957 in Emerson, Iowa. Over the years, she lived in many different places in Iowa and Nebraska. Grace worked for Pamida for many years both in Omaha, Nebraska and Atlantic, Iowa. Grace was very active in her church when she worked for Pamida in Atlantic and loved to crochet.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: John Lewellen on July 5, 2013 and infant son: Nick Lewellen. She is survived by her sons: Kent Lewellen of Des Moines, IA and Jay Lewellen and wife Adriana of Horsham, PA; grandchildren: Reece Lewellen and wife Cassie of Ankeny, IA; Breann Hooper and husband Bob of Minneapolis, MN; Bailey Lewellen and Levi Johns of Des Moines, IA; Juliana Lewellen of Ambler, PA; Jason Catalano of Willow Grove, PA; Mike Catalano and wife Cheryl of Ambler, PA; Chris Catalano and wife Cara of Willow Grove, PA; great grandchildren: Kayden Cook, Cillian Lewellen, and Charli Catalano; brothers: Edwin Hascall and wife Betty of Coin, IA; Kirk Hascall and wife Linda of Emerson, IA; Harold Hascall and wife Carol of Liberty, MO; and Donald Hascall and wife Cheryl of Ogden, IA; sisters: Carol Ray and husband Earl of Louisiana, MO and Georgia Hascall of Corning, IA; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held 2 PM Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa.
