Vayne Eugene Redd, Jr., age 52, of Coburg, Iowa, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. Vayne was born July 31, 1967 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Vayne Eugene Redd, Sr. and Anna Nadine (Cannon) Redd. The family moved to Red Oak where Vayne graduated from Red Oak Community High School in 1987. He attended Iowa Western Community College studying Diesel Mechanics. He was a truck driver and most recently worked for OFC Schmidt Trucking. He was united in marriage to Anita Marie Elizabeth Hersh on July 2, 1988 in Red Oak, Iowa. They made their home in Coburg, Iowa. Vayne is a member of Crossroads Community Church and Southwest Iowa ABATE. He loved woodworking, riding his motorcycle, grilling, spending time with family and friends, and had a unique hobby of candle making. Vayne was very proud to be a member of the Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout.

Preceding him in death were his brother: Brian Redd; his mother: Nadine Redd; and his mother-in-law: Dorothy Hersh. Survivors include his wife: Anita Redd of Coburg, IA; children: Allan-Michael Redd of Coburg, IA; Devin Brady Redd and fiancÚ, Julia Hacker of Omaha, NE; Deric Lee Redd of Plattsmouth, NE; father: Gene Redd of Coburg, IA; brother: Tim Redd and wife Jennifer of Creston, IA; sister: Julieanna Schooling and husband Jody of Coburg, IA; grandmothers: Irene Taylor of Villisca, IA and Doris Redd of Pittsburg, KS; sisters-in-law: Tammi Redd of Coburg, IA; Lori Meyerholtz and husband Wes of Shenandoah, IA; and Diana Hoden of Council Bluffs, IA; brother-in-law: Daniel Hersh and wife Beth of Springfield, MO; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. There will be open visitation at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
