Mildred Luella Weilenman, age 104, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society. Mildred was born April 28, 1915 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of George Albert and Elizabeth J. (Laughford) McCreary. She was raised in Red Oak graduating from Red Oak High School. She was united in marriage to Byron Everett “Bun” Weilenman on October 4, 1935 in Red Oak, Iowa. They lived in Washington and Colorado for a short time before moving back to Red Oak. Mildred retired after many years of being employed by Thos. D. Murphy Co. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church where she was active in choir, bell choir, and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Faith Rebekah Lodge #174 of Red Oak serving as Vice Grand, Instructor, Conductor, Noble Grand, Musician, and Secretary. Mildred spent many years in the Monday Club as President, Secretary, Chairman, and Treasurer of the House Committee. She also held membership in the Royal Neighbors of America and enjoyed square dancing in her younger years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Byron Weilenman; and brother: Lyle McCreary. Survivors include her daughter: Kathi Archer and husband Russ of Red Oak; grandchildren: Shellie Welbon of Red Oak and Dustin Archer of Red Oak; great grandchildren: Michael Archer of Red Oak, Matthew Archer of Las Vegas, NV, and Chandra Marketon and husband Tyler of Lafayette, KY; and other relatives and many friends.

A celebration of life visitation and luncheon will be held from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Montgomery County History Center. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
