Donald L. Pendleton, age 83, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. Don was born September 10, 1935 in Flag Springs, Missouri the son of Bud and Blanche (Parham) Pendleton. He graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1953 and attended one year of college at Northwest Missouri State College. He was united in marriage to Lois Buffon on December 18, 1960 at the Stratton United Methodist Church. He worked for one year helping to build the sewage plant at Red Oak, then started farming with Loisí parents. Don and Lois lived fifty years on the same farm before moving to Red Oak in 2011. Don was a longtime member of Stratton United Methodist Church, was a Farm Bureau member, and served on the Red Oak School Board for many years. He enjoyed bowling, water skiing, playing cards, and sports. He still attended many Red Oak sporting events.

Preceding him in death were his parents; infant sisters: Wanda and Joan; sons: Rickey and Roger; and brother: Robert Pendleton. Survivors include his wife: Lois Pendleton of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter: Linda Huber and husband Steve of Council Bluffs, Iowa; son: Randy Pendleton and wife Connie of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter-in-law: Amy Pendleton of Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren: Arielle Vollers and husband Kaleb of Ft. Worth, Texas; Blake Huber of McAllen, Texas; Kylie Pendleton, Maria Pendleton, and Abby Pendleton all of Red Oak, Iowa; great grandson: Koltyn Vollers of Ft. Worth, Texas; sisters: Betty Fryrear of Platte City, Missouri and Georgie Bender of Oregon, Missouri and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Stratton United Methodist Church or the Red Oak FFA Chapter.
