Ralph Jabez Stebbins, Jr., age 87, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Red Oak Healthcare Community. Ralph was born September 5, 1930 in Orange City, Iowa the son of Ralph Jabez Stebbins, Sr. and Vera Eloise (Caruth) Stebbins. The family moved to Red Oak, Iowa when Ralph was ten years old. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 1948 and attended one year of Red Oak Junior College before attending Simpson College. Ralph then served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a radioman with a helicopter medical rescue squadron. Upon his return from service, Ralph attended University of Iowa where he graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree in 1957. On July 13, 1958, Ralph was united in marriage to Evelyn Shook in Delta, Iowa. They lived in Cicero, Illinois where Ralph started a long career with Western Electric. Over the years Ralph and Evelyn lived in Cicero, Illinois, Columbus, Ohio, Naperville, Illinois, and Rock Wall, Texas retiring in 1985. While in Texas, he volunteered for Telephone Pioneers of America traveling throughout the state. Ralph and Evelyn moved to Nixa, Missouri in 1994 and Red Oak, Iowa in 2015. Ralph was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church and Telephone Pioneers of America. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time at Lake Okoboji, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister: Shirley Stebbins; brother-in-law: Blaine Humphrey; and nephew: John Humphrey. Survivors include his wife: Evelyn Stebbins of Red Oak, IA; sisters: Geraldine Humphrey of Council Bluffs, IA and Phyllis Stebbins of Red Oak, IA; brother: Robert G. Stebbins, Sr. and wife Joan of Council Bluffs, IA; uncle: Andrew Caruth of Webster City, IA; brother-in-law: Ed Shook of Delta, IA; nieces and nephews: Susan Steffens and fiancÚ Roy Miller of Millard, NE; Lynne Humphrey of Carroll, IA; Robert G. Stebbins, Jr. and wife Louisa of Eldorado Hills, CA; and Diane Michalski and husband Blake of Omaha, NE; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held 11 AM Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Presbyterian Church or the Telephone Pioneers of America.
