Harriett Winifred Turner, age 99, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Harriett was born February 21, 1918 in Emerson, Iowa the daughter of George and Margaret (Hall) Clites. She was raised in the Emerson and Hastings area attending school at Strahan. Harriett was united in marriage to Max Turner on February 21, 1938 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They lived on farms in Mills and Montgomery Counties for many years moving into Red Oak in 1964. Over the years Harriett cleaned for the Van Druff family, worked at the Henningsen Egg Plant in Malvern, and cooked at JD Café. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, playing Rummikub, and spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Max Turner on February 21, 1994; and many siblings. Survivors include her children: Jolene Crawford and husband Pete of Red Oak, IA; Larry Turner and wife Jan of Gainesville, VA; and Jared Turner and wife Karen of Bedford, TX; grandchildren: Shelley Bergren and husband David of Red Oak, IA; Stacey Von Dielingen and husband Ron of Red Oak, IA; Shane Ross and wife Mindy of Omaha, NE; Dawn Bell And husband Willis of Spanaway, WA; David Turner of Front Royal, VA; Tamara Cramer of Bedford, TX; Debbie Turner of Ft. Worth, TX; and Holly Galloway and husband Joedy Saginaw, TX; great grandchildren: Brandon Bergren, Blake Bergren, Owen Von Dielingen, Jadyn Dielingen, Baylor Bergren, Bryton Bergren, Shannon Bell, Brandon Bell, Whitney Blair and husband Mark, Michael Cramer, Hannah Galloway, and Jack Galloway; great great grandchild: Harper Blair; and other relatives and many friends.

Private family graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Evergreen Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established in Harriett’s name.
