Wilma L. Blazek, age 106, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Wilma was born March 21, 1911 on the homestead farm in Clarkson, Nebraska the daughter of Louis and Hermie (Rayman) Kabes. She graduated Clarkson High School and Lincoln School of Commerce. She was united in marriage to Milo Blazek of Howells, Nebraska in 1934. Wilma survived the Great Depression, WWII, and the early death of her husband in 1962. She lived most of her adult life in Emerson, Iowa and was a member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star, and Women's Club. Wilma also cooked with her good friends at Nishna Valley School until she retired. She moved to "Legacy" retirement community in Lincoln, Nebraska and later to Westminster Towers in Bradenton, Florida. Until the very last days, Wilma had a sense of humor, loved her family, and was unfailing in her faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one sister, two brothers, and a nephew. Survivors include her daughter, Janice Connor and husband John of Woodstock, GA; granddaughter, Meredith Maher and husband Larry of Marietta, GA; grandson, John Connor III and wife Stacy of Lincoln, NE; great grandchildren: Brett Maher and Jack and Abby Connor; one nephew; cousins and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside celebration of life services will be held 10 AM Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery with Pastor Jason Latta officiating.
