James Francis Foreman, age 70, of Hooper, Nebraska formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Fremont, Nebraska. James was born January 14, 1947 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of James and Elizabeth "Maggie" (Richards) Foreman. He was raised in Red Oak and Council Bluffs graduating from the Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs. He attended Jr. College in La Junta, Colorado. James served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War period. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Lukehart and two children were born: Janice and Michell. He later married Margaret Moreland on November 20, 1973 in LaJunta, CO. Four sons were born to this union: Robert, Gail, James, and William. Over the years James lived most of his life in Hooper, NE but also lived in Fremont, NE; LaJunta, CO, Red Oak, IA, Council Bluffs, IA, Creston, IA; Newnan, GA, Hogansville, GA; and Palmetto, GA. While living in La Junta, James worked for the power plant before becoming disabled. He had a passion for football, especially the Denver Broncos, and loved to go fishing as often as possible, which he would tell you was never often enough. James loved pets and had many dogs by his side throughout his life. He enjoyed cooking and always made sure to make more than enough to feed every guest. James had a great sense of humor and liked to share his joy with others.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother: Herman Foreman; and sisters: Christine Kammerer, June Henderson, and Shirley Reeves. Survivors include his wife: Margaret Foreman of Fremont, NE; children: Janice Tilton and husband Ron of Red Oak, IA; Michell Workman and husband Jim of Red Oak, IA; Robert Foreman of Fremont, NE; Gail Foreman and wife Jenny of Arlington, NE; James Foreman and wife Stephanie of Omaha, NE; and William Foreman and wife Gabrielle of Fremont, NE; grandchildren: Haylie Mae Johnson and fiance Jesse Nelson of Red Oak, IA; Hillary Tilton of Red Oak, IA; Branden Tilton of Red Oak, IA; Natasha Higgs of New Mexico; Cassandra Weitzenkamp and husband Justin of Uehling, NE; Justin Foreman of Hooper, NE; and Dillon Workman of Red Oak, IA; Madeline and Aiden Foreman of Arlington, NE; August Foreman of Omaha, NE; and Layla and Liam Foreman of Fremont, NE; great grandchildren: Maelynn and Hailynn Johnson, Braylen Nelson, Anna Woods, and Meredith Weitzenkamp; sisters: Mary Clayton of Creston, IA; Rosalie Baker of Davenport, IA; and Patricia Rush of Cedar Bluff, NE; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Viewing and visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
