After attending St. Patrick’s school in Imogene through fifth grade, Angela graduated from Farragut (Iowa) High School in 1974. Angela then attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, IA, on two separate occasions. In 1976, she received her diploma in Medical Secretary and then in 1983 she received her Associates Degree in Nursing, which started her career as a Registered Nurse. Angela was a devoted nurse for approximately 25 years, working for Mercy and Jennie Ed Hospitals in Council Bluffs, IA; then working for Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, Ne., Dialysis Unit at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, Shenandoah, Ia., as a dialysis nurse.

Angela was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Imogene, IA, and belonged to the parish Altar Society. During high school Angela worked alongside family friend, Margaret Ann Hall, cleaning the church, school and rectory. Angela enjoyed being involved in any community organization that helped the church and town that she dearly loved. She held the office of Mayor of Imogene from 1996 to 2003 and then served on the city council for many years after.
Even though Angela was never blessed with her own children, her beloved dogs Buddy, Casey and BJ gave her much love and joy. Her nieces and nephews: Dillon and Cody; Victoria and Zachary; Alicia and Nina; Steven and Melisa; David, Tami, Mark, and Jacob; Eric, Tom and Matt; Stephanie and Tony; Regan and Riley, she considered all of them like her own.

Angela was preceded in death by her parents Betty and Harvey, sister, Victoria, brother, Chris, best friend, Aunt Johanna, and great-nephews, Maliki and Alex. She is survived by her sisters Cindy and Ernie Dyke, Council Bluffs, IA; Janice and Jerry Doyle, Imogene, IA; Patti and Doug Wetterlind, Red Oak, IA; Julie and Roy Herold, Shenandoah, IA; Mary Blankman, Plattsmouth, NE; and her brother, Curtis and Roxann Pelster, Omaha, NE. In addition, many great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
