Marilyn E. Viner, age 86, of Emerson, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Red Oak Good Samaritan Society. Marilyn was born May 13, 1927 in Montgomery County, Iowa the daughter of John and Rosa (Harding) Triplett. She graduated from Henderson High School and started working for a bank in Red Oak. Marilyn was united in marriage to Byron Viner on April 2, 1947 in Shenandoah, Iowa. Byron and Marilyn farmed all of their lives near Wales, Iowa. Marilyn was a member of the Oaks Community Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, attended numerous Bible studies, and was faithful supporter of missionaries. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed being involved in her neighborhood club over the years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; children: John, Larry, and Susan Viner; husband: Byron Viner; brothers: Norris and George Triplett and daughter-in-law: Vickie Viner . Survivors include her son: Howard Viner and wife Bonnie of Emerson, IA; grandchildren: Lauren Viner of St. Paul, MN; Nick Viner and wife Cara of Iowa City, IA; Anna Viner of Arlington Heights, IL; Ellen Barr and husband Mackay of El Paso, TX; Tammy Glisan of Red Oak, IA; Veriti Turner of Thonotosassa, FL; Dennis Waldeman and wife Jessica of St. Petersburg, FL; many great grandchildren; sister: Doris Reid of Denver, CO; sister-in-law: Julie Triplett of St. Louis, MO; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Oaks Community Church near Emerson, Iowa. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, May 2, 2014 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Oaks Community Church.
