Nadine Redd, age 65, of Coburg, Iowa, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. Anna “Nadine” Redd was born April 18, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee the daughter of Gentry and Marion (Drake) Cannon. She was raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa where she graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1964. Nadine was united in marriage to Vayne Eugene Redd, Sr. on October 15, 1966 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They lived in Council Bluffs for a short time before moving to Red Oak. Nadine worked for Schoenberg’s Clothing Store, cleaned houses, was a homemaker, and worked for Douglas and Lomason Company before starting a long career with the Red Oak Community Schools in the Transportation Department. She was a bus driver and retired as the Transportation Director after 33 years of service. After retirement from the school you could find Nadine spending many hours working at the YMCA. She was the chairman for many years of the Montgomery County Relay For Life, was the city of Coburg clerk for 28 years, served on the Red Oak Rural Fire Board, County Landfill Board, E-911 Board, Montgomery County Emergency Management Board, delivered Meals On Wheels, worked with the First Baptist Church Women’s Choir, was a sales rep for House of Lloyd, and was a member of Faith Community Church where she helped with Wednesday activities and VBS. She enjoyed bowling for Phelps Feed Team and ministering to the people with Clowns For The Kingdom. Nadine was very faithful to God, her family, and her friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother: Mike Cannon; and her son: Brian Redd on November 20, 2009. Survivors include her husband Gene Redd of Coburg, IA; children: Vayne Redd and wife Anita of Red Oak, IA; Tim Redd and wife Leanne of Bellevue, NE; and Julieanna Schooling and husband Jody of Coburg, IA; daughter-in-law: Tammi Redd of Coburg, IA; grandchildren: Allan-Michael, Devin, and Deric Redd of Red Oak, IA; Christina, Stephanie, and Nicolette Beaulieu of Bellevue, NE; Cassandra, Jessica, and Emma Redd of Coburg, IA; and Anna, Anthony, and Katie Schooling of Coburg, IA; great granddaughter: Sophia Eggleston of Coburg, IA; brothers: Bob Cannon and wife Viv of Layton, UT and Jim Cannon and wife Connie of Council Bluffs, IA; sister: Sandy Petry and husband Gary of Council Bluffs, IA; mother-in-law: Irene Taylor of Glen Bernie, MD; brother-in-law: Frank Rhoades and wife Diane of Glen Bernie, MD; sister-in-law: Rebecca Daniels and husband Brad of Pittsburg, KS; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Faith Community Church with Pastor David Mac Donald officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Cremation will take place after the services and burial will be at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the “Redd Relayers Team”.
