One of the best neighbors a boy could ever have! If it wasn''t for Donny, I would never have had the experience of jumping up and down in a humungous gunny sack of wool or helping him harvest "rocky mountain oysters" from an almost full grown boar. I imagine Trixie (and many number of other faithful companions) are glad to see him. He was a very kind soul! RIP

Donovan was a happy man and always friendly to us when we came home to Iowa. He seemed like a man who was doing what he loved---farming
Rest in God"s peace

Donnie was an outstanding nieghbor when we lived just down the road from him and Karlette. Always greeting you with a big smile and asking about your family. God gained a dedicated farmer and conservation angel. Rest In Peace my friend, you’re love of this land is done.

I have known Donnie for over 30 years and I never saw him without a big smile on his face and a friendly greeting. His was a personality bigger than life and he faced life full-on. I always enjoyed listening to his stories of his horses and family and was always amazed at what a wonderful life he lived. He loved showing horses in SISCO and taking his granddaughter in the lead line class. Donnie was a kindhearted soul and he will be missed.

Karlette, Bret, Kenda and families. I am so sorry for your loss. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. I had a lot of fun times out on your farm and at your grandparent's when we were younger. I will always have great memories of your parents.

Karlette, you do not know me but I am the oldest daughter of Richard and Marilynn Dowell Graham, Kathy. I know Mom would want you to know how sorry she is to hear about Donovan and that she sends her deepest condolences, as do I. She always spoke so highly of both of you. Kathy Graham Halderman

Our deepest sympathy to the Hultman family. Our connections to the Hultman family goes back 40 years to our days showing horses and our children playing together between classes. (Tea parties and matchbook cars). Through the subsequent years, we continued our friendship through buying ram lambs from Donavan's farm and enjoying conversations with him at the sale barn and at our 50th Anniversary party. Our children, Bryce and Sara, join with us in expressing our condolences. He was such a joy to know.

Every time it would rain, I could expect a phone call from Don to talk about it and how much it rained 'down here'. I always enjoyed visiting with him about the farm, the weather and what was going on. A good farmer...a good friend...a good neighbor...a good man.

I was so sad to hear about Donnie. He was quite a guy! Our neighbor, friend & keeper of the land. One day he pulled up in his green gator 4-wheel thing, picked up my grandson & sped off to his house. Mom & I followed. Here was Donnie, Karlette, Jake(the little pony) & Little Orphan Annie(the dog). Julian was going to get to ride Jake. Took lots of pictures. He will never forget Donnie--He told Mom that Donnie was a real cowboy. My Dad was so proud when one day Donnie was over & told Dad how nice the farms looked. Donnie's farms always looked perfect!
He was always happy, lots of energy & a friend. He will be missed. RIP
